UPDATE AS OF 14.08 (GMT) Friday 4th June

Authorities in Vietnam have decided to close Hanoi airport to incoming international flights until at least 7th June.

The EU Commission has proposed that member states gradually ease travel measures over the summer, and that fully vaccinated individuals become exempt from testing and quarantining. European Union governments have agreed to add Japan to their small list of countries from which they will allow non-essential travel, while holding off until at least mid-June for British tourists. EU countries are recommended gradually to lift travel restrictions for the current seven countries on the list, Australia, Israel, New Zealand, Rwanda, Singapore, South Korea, and Thailand, however, individual EU countries can still opt to demand a negative COVID-19 test or a period of quarantine.

Portugal has been moved from the UK's Green travel list to the Amber list and seven more countries have been added to the Red list.

Wales will begin a phased transition to alert level one from Monday 7th June.

Weekend lockdown restrictions in Turkey have been lifted on Saturdays but will continue Sundays. Weekday curfews will now begin at 10pm.
